What’s the best way to teach children about resolving stress that they may feel? This book share’s with children by using cute little characters: Odette and Marcus. Odette is a little ant who needs to feel calm, because the other ants work so hard that it bothers her.
When Odette walks out of her ant room and enjoys the sunshine while she breathes. She is following activities that help her to relax, and it helps. Then she talks with her friend, Marcus, who is also feeling stress. Odette teaches him all she’s learned about meditating.
Later, Odette feels anxious again. This time it’s Marcus who helps her to relax. The modern illustrations use muted, warm colors. Each page has a letter of the alphabet and a term that fits with this theme. Every two pages you’ll find an activity for the children to follow Odette’s advice. This could be an activity for parents and children to do together.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sandrine Marlier woke up one day in her New York apartment feeling out of sorts. She realized that no matter how many trips she would take around the world, thanks to her modeling career, only a journey within could bring her peace. Eventually, she trained with world-renowned meditation teacher davidji. That training inspired this book, as she found herself drawing an ant and a sound: A, the beginning of all beginnings. Sandrine is a mother, meditation teacher, transformational coach, and Reiki practitioner. She shares free meditations about healing and empowerment on Instagram (@sandrinemarlier).
